This con focuses on certain aspects of the costumer's interest.  Whether you like historical, Sci-fi, Steampunk, or fantasy costuming, there is something for everyone.  From hair-styles to self photography; from ideas on lighting and presentation, to what judges look for -- we hope to have a fun and learning weekend.

Victorian Ball - Victorian Society of America

“Victoria’s Septet”, another fine musical combo by Maestro Phil Wilkinson will provide the music for this event.  You’d have time to do Bootleggers’ Run and still make it over to Pt. Angeles to dress in Victorian/Edwardian attire, eat dinner and then dance your shoes off!  This is sure to be a lovely event by our friends in Pt. Townsend. Christien Burnett & her mom Darla are organizing it all this year. Antique-ing in Snohomish

Town of Snohomish         Details:  Several SITU Members plan to attend the street fair in the historic town of Snohomish, arriving approx. 11am.  We plan to dress in 1920's/30's attire (think Bootleggers or Bonnie & Clyde) to stroll the booths looking for must-have treasures. We'll take a break with a picnic lunch to keep things affordable.

Corsets and Comedy Event

“Charlie’s Aunt” - Matinee at Taproot Theatre

Enjoy the delightful play at a discounted rate (only $20 if booked thru SITU's website), just for SITU and friends!  Taproot is hosting our group prior to curtain rising for light refreshments and a chat with the costume designer for the play, which happens to be set around 1912-14.  We have been encouraged to attend in 1912-14 attire.  The story of the play is light-hearted and fun, suitable also for young audiences.

SASS Demonstration (aka Cowboy Shooting) - Renton

Renton Gun Range          Details:  SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) is a fun group of folks who shoot at targets and dress in Old West and late Victorian style.  "Jess Ducky", the trainer of the Renton area SASS group, will show us his collection of pistols, shotguns and rifles as well as do a demo.  If we're lucky and are wearing eye and ear protection, we might be Jus' Lucky to try it out!

Gold Dust Days - Gold Bar, Washington

English Speaking Union (ESU) Garden Party - Seattle

Kirkland Concours d'Elegance - Kirkland, WA

           Details:  The theme this year is "Evening in Venice".  This annual event draws the creme-de-la-creme of beautiful vintage cars brought to the competition from all over the U.S.

Last year, members of SITU dressed in vintage turn of the century attire and strolled this prestigious car show.  We were on hand for anyone who wanted our photo with them in front of a host of different luxury and sports cars.  Early examples, as well as contemporary electric vehicles were on display.  If you are a vintage car buff, this is a show you do NOT want to miss!

Autumn Leaf Festival Grande Parade - Leavenworth

             Details:  Calling all enthusiastic and fun folks!  SITU plans to be in the parade again this year.  We strongly encourage our newer members to join us for the day, especially you men.  We caravan over the mountains, "do" the short parade, and spend the day enjoying view of the autumn leaves above the hills while participating in the annual festival.

Let your inner child come out to play for the day!  Just ask Sir Harry of Essex, it's a total blast and we are always well received!  Not hard to walk in the pack of us and wave at the smiling faces.  We're planning what costumes to wear this year.  Come on, you know you want to do it...

John Phillip Sousa Concert - Tacoma

                       Details:  Known world-wide for his military style marches, Sousa was a great composer, beginning early in his career.  He even re-enlisted in the Marine Corps to lead the band.  Talk about dedication to music and country!

Sleigh Bells Ring, Are You Listening? - Leavenworth When:      Sat  Dec 4th                           Cost:      TBD

              Details:   Leavenworth is the place to be for the annual Christmas Lighting Festival, especially so if there's snow on the ground!  Last year, Lady V & Sir Harry hired a luxury coach to

take folks over the mountains.  This year, does anyone have interest in caravanning in cars?  Interested in buying $150 tickets thru Alki Tours for the Snow Train?  Does ANYONE want to go at all?

We'll wear our MOST warm Winter Woolies, complete with fur if you have it.  Polar fleece materials just don't stand up to the crushingly cold weather of the mountains.  Be SURE to wear double socks and heavy boots!  Last year, the temps were in the 20's F and folks were shivering cold in the crisp air.  At precisely 4pm, the city transforms into a magical wonderland of twinkling lights.  If you've never gone before, it's worth the money.  Really.  I'm serious.  Contact: LadyVictoria "at" SITUSeattle.com

Victorian Parlour Tour

         DetailsThe small, historic town of Snohomish, WA plays host to folks as we descend upon them in Dec for their holiday Victorian Parlour Tour.  This annual event is put on by the Snohomish Historical Society and raises money for the preservation efforts in town.

"Tea & A Play" - Tacoma

                        Details:  Always wanted to "do tea" at a Victorian home?  Always wanted to see a Christmas Revel?  We've got in store for you this year!  Pricing structure will be Tea-only, Play-only, or Combo.  More details are coming.

If you've had a burning desire to wear a romantic bustle dress and cape to go to tea and the theatre, this is down your alley!  Treat yourself to a special experience this year.  You deserve it.  Splurge a little....
